What is Motability?
Motability means affordable, convenient motoring for disabled people and their families. It means the freedom to come and go, to shop, to work. It means staying in touch, making a difference - and getting more out of life. Using your allowance to pay for a new car is an important choice or the life you plan to lead.
The Motability all in one package takes care of so many aspects of day-to-day motoring, leaving you free to get on with your life.
If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement you can turn part or all of your allowance into the car of your choice.
It's your choice of car
A popular use of the allowance is to select your next car with a contract hire package. Contract hire cars come with a range of options, designed for minimum stress in choosing your next vehicle.
ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for Motability, you must be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
1. Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC of DLA)
2. War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or
3. Currently be driving a Government vehicle, trike or mini.
You must have at least 12 months award length remaining when you apply.
Contract hire can offer you;
- A new car every 3 years
- Insurance cover
- Servicing and maintenance packages
- Breakdown assistance from the RAC
Many customers choose this option as they find it one of the most attractive methods to pay for a new car with the convenience of a regular monthly payment.
