Nissan LEAF just bagged the UK’s “most reliable used EV” title again

If you’re thinking of going electric but want something that won’t be a hassle, here’s a feel-good bit of news: the Nissan LEAF has once again been named the UK’s most reliable used electric car, and the latest model will be landing at Pat Kirk Nissan very soon.

New analysis from Warranty Solutions Group looked at 1,000 real world EV repair claims paid on EV warranties issued between January and December 2025. They compared fault rates and repair costs across some of the UK’s most popular electric models, and LEAF came out on top.

The standout stat

The Nissan LEAF topped the reliability rankings with a super low claim rate of just 1.52%, which is exactly what you want to hear if you’re browsing used EVs and want peace of mind.

James McDermott, Franchise Manager, said:

“This survey is based on real customer repair claims and it shows just how strong the Nissan LEAF is for reliability. For anyone thinking about switching to electric, especially for the first time, knowing you are choosing something proven and dependable is a big deal. Our customers genuinely love LEAF, so it is brilliant to see that backed up by the data.”

LEAF has a proper track record

The Nissan LEAF first launched in the UK in 2011, with UK production starting in Sunderland in 2013. The second-generation model arrived in 2018 with more technology and increased range, which means there’s plenty of choice out there if you’re looking at used options too.

The new one is on the way

The all-new Nissan LEAF is due to arrive at Pat Kirk Nissan soon, featuring a quoted range of up to 386 miles on a single charge depending on model and driving conditions. It’s proudly built in Britain, and it also qualifies for the full Electric Car Grant discount of £3,750, subject to eligibility and scheme rules.
