New Nissan Qashqai e-POWER Smashes UK Road Trip Challenge and Arrives with More Tech and Better Value

The British-built Nissan Qashqai has once again proved why it’s one of the UK’s most popular cars. The latest version, powered by Nissan’s advanced e-POWER technology, has completed the famous Land’s End to John O’Groats journey on just one tank of fuel, and still had 100 miles left to go at the finish line.

One Tank. 837 Miles. Zero Stress.

Over two days, engineers from Nissan Technical Centre Europe drove two Qashqai e-POWER models from the southern tip of England to the very top of Scotland. The team covered 837 miles and achieved an impressive 75mpg, showcasing just how efficient the latest powertrain really is.

Dean Driver, one of the engineers behind the wheel, said:

“Driving the Qashqai e-POWER from Land’s End to John O’Groats really showed the strength of the new powertrain. It was smooth, quiet and comfortable the whole way, and we still had fuel left in the tank at the end. It’s a brilliant example of how far this technology has come.”

Unlike a traditional hybrid, the Qashqai e-POWER uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine purely to generate electricity, which powers the electric motor that drives the wheels. This gives you instant torque, quiet acceleration and a relaxed drive—without needing to plug in.

Better Tech. More Efficiency. No Price Hike.

Nissan has also confirmed pricing for the latest Qashqai e-POWER, and despite some big upgrades, prices remain unchanged on most models and are even slightly lower on two:

GradePrevious PriceNew PriceChange
Acenta Premium£34,860£34,860£0
N-Connecta£37,330£37,330£0
N-Design£39,730£39,680-£50
Tekna£39,730£39,680-£50
Tekna+£43,210£43,210£0

That means drivers get better performance, lower emissions and improved refinement without paying a penny more.

Upgrades You’ll Notice on Every Drive

The new e-POWER system has been improved across the board:

  • Fuel economy is up by 15%, giving up to 62.8mpg (WLTP) and a potential range of 745 miles.
  • CO₂ emissions are down by 12%, dropping to 102g/km.
  • Cabin noise is reduced by up to 5.6dB, making motorway journeys even more peaceful.
  • Power has increased from 188bhp to 201bhp in Sport Mode.
  • Service intervals have been extended from 9,000 to 12,000 miles, cutting ownership costs.

Production is already underway at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, where over 4.5 million Qashqais have been built since 2006. The first new Qashqai e-POWER models are arriving in showrooms now.

James Taylor, Managing Director of Nissan GB, said:

“We’re thrilled to bring the latest version of e-POWER to UK customers—and proud that it’s built right here in Britain. With better efficiency, refinement and performance at no extra cost, we’re confident Qashqai e-POWER will continue to be a firm favourite.”

Smarter, More Connected

The latest Qashqai also comes packed with updated technology, including Google built-in for Google Maps, Assistant and Play Store. Drivers can use voice commands, get live weather updates, and record journeys through Nissan Trip Stories.

An upgraded ProPILOT system improves multi-lane driving assistance and traffic awareness, giving drivers even more confidence behind the wheel.
